Class 10 | Linear Equations | Practice Set 1.2
In this article, we are going to learn about the procedure of solving linear equations in two variables using Graphical method. Each and every example of practice set 1.2 is available in handwritten form.
In this method, three values of either x or y are considered as per our wish and the corresponding values of y or x are obtained by solving the equations.
After obtaining the values of x and y for both the equations, all the values are plotted on the graph paper and the intersection of both the lines is our solution.
In this way, the linear equations in two variables are solved using graphical method.
- Complete the following table to draw graph of the equations – (I) x + y = 3 (II) x – y = 4
x+y=3 x-y=4 x3 x-10 y 53 y0 -4
(x, y) (3, 0) (0, 3) (x, y) (0, -4) - Solve the following simultaneous equations graphically.
(1) x + y = 6 ; x – y = 4
(3) x + y = 0 ; 2x – y = 9
(5) 3x – 4y = -7 ; 5x – 2y = 0
(2) x + y = 5 ; x – y = 3
8
(4) 3x – y = 2 ; 2x – y = 3
(6) 2x – 3y = 4 ; 3y – x = 4
